At noon on September 23, at the Madison Club, Eric Barber and Freya K. Bowen will return to present the Civil Law update of United States Supreme Court cases. This annual presentation is always well attended, always well reviewed, and seats will fill up fast!
Eric G. Barber is a partner in the Madison office of Perkins Coie LLP. Prior to entering private practice, Eric clerked for Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court and then for Judge Richard C. Wesley of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. His primary area of practice is assisting corporate policy holders with their insurance needs, including counseling and litigating to recover insurance proceeds for a variety of first-party and third-party losses. Eric also has significant appellate experience. On behalf of corporations and organizations such as the ACLU and the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, Eric has worked on appeals (both on the merits and as amicus) in various appellate courts around the country, including the United States Supreme Court, the Second and Seventh Circuits, and the California and Wisconsin Supreme Courts.”
Eric will be joined by Freya K. Bowen, also from Perkins Coie. Freya has represented clients before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh, Ninth, Eleventh and District of Columbia Circuits, as well as the California Court of Appeals. Freya clerked for Judge Sidney R. Thomas of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
