Sarah Zylstra - DCBA President

DCBA has provided support and assistance to both its members and the community for over 155 years. We have a proud tradition and look forward to a long future of service.

DCBA offers a wide array of programs. We provide bimonthly CLE luncheons on current legal topics of interest. We offer a cost-effective Case Mediation Program for early resolution of disputes. The Joseph A. Melli Mentorship program, which seeks to match young lawyers with more experienced counsel, is one of the longest standing and most successful mentorship programs in the country.

We also seek to serve our community. We provide various public outreach programs, including our popular annual Law Day celebration, the Family Law Assistance Center, the Small Claims Assistance Program, and numerous pro bono opportunities.

We also seek to strengthen the relationships between lawyers and with our judiciary with social programs such as the Bench Bar Brawl, Fridays at Four, Senior Lawyers events, and Young Lawyers events.

We are always looking for new members to join our ranks and share in the benefits of living and working in our community. If you would like to learn more, please browse our website or feel free to contact me at We are also always looking to improve so if you have a good idea, I would love to hear from you about that too.
