At noon on Tuesday, May 27, at the Madison Club, Attorney Theresa L Roetter will discuss recent developments in Wisconsin surrogacy law. In July 2013 the Wisconsin Supreme Court issued the opinion In re the Paternity of F.T.R. (Rosecky v. Schissel), 2013 WI 66, 833 N.W.2d 634, holding that a surrogacy agreement was enforceable and not contrary to public policy. The use of assisted reproductive technology is a viable method of family building in Wisconsin. Attorney Theresa Roetter will discuss the Rosecky decision and best practices when working in this interesting area of family law.
Theresa L. Roetter is a partner at Annen Roetter, LLC in Madison, Wisconsin. Theresa focuses her practice on adoption, assisted reproduction and other family law matters related to children. She has served as counsel in hundreds of assisted reproduction and adoption matters and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys where she currently serves on the Board of Trustees.
