Madison Public Library

The Madison Public Library will hold a Bookfest at the new Central Library Branch from October 17-19, 2013.  Our own History and Memorials Committee Members, Tom Ragatz and Paul Humphrey who co-authored "Lawyers Who Shaped Dane County.  The History of the Practice of Law in the Madison Area"  have been invited to be the inaugural event in the Local History Room of the new Central Lirbrary at the Bookfest from 11:00 to 1:00 on Saturday October 19th .  Paul and Tom will present aspects of the book including stories about the lawyers and their impact on the Madison area over the years.  Names such as Olin, Tenney, Aberg, Keyes and LaFollette dot our landscape and history here and these lawyers helped weave the tapestry we celebrate here in Madison.  Tom and Paul will also talk about changes in the practice of law over the years, the progression of law firms in the area, the impact of women lawyers here, and the History of the Courthouses, the Bar Association and the Law School.  Join Paul, Tom, members of the Bar and the library community on October 19th.  For more infpormation, you are welcome to call the Bar Association of go to www.madisonpubliclibrary.org/book-festival
