Brian Brophy is a civil litigation and criminal defense attorney. He’s had the benefit of extensive experience both prosecuting and defending criminal and civil actions. The majority of his practice is devoted to defending those charged with crimes and representing people who have been seriously injured in accidents.
Mr. Brophy has achieved a long and exceptional record of victories at trial, just settlements and fair pre-trial dispositions. Equally important, he has helped numerous clients to avoid litigation or criminal charges. Mr. Brophy practices before state and federal courts, administrative agencies and represents clients at all stages of the legal process from pre-suit or pre-charging through appeal.
Mr. Brophy has been repeatedly recognized in various ‘Best of’ listings, is AV Preeminent peer-review rated through Martindale-Hubbell* and has been named a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers organization. He’s repeatedly been a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Law School, a presenter for educational programs for lawyers and is called upon for commentary and education by the news media.
Prior to becoming a lawyer Mr. Brophy was a high school teacher and coach. After law school he served as a prosecutor, rising from intern to Dane County District Attorney. He practiced with the firm of Sipsma, Hahn & Brophy LLC for 15 years before joining Sweet DeMarb LLC and then forming DeMarb Brophy LLC.
In 2021, Attorney Brophy created Brophy Law Office to focus exclusively on his criminal and personal injury clients.
